PRESERVED LIGHT | 2019
The "Preserved Light" collection consists of three objects made with different glass techniques. This project originated from my astonishment for stained glass. The reflections from the windows inspired me to translate into products. However, the stained glass windows are slowly disappearing from our street scene. I believe that this light must be preserved by further developing or applying the stained glass technique in a different way.
Through material research and 3d studies I designed the "Preserved Light" collection. Every object shows (translated by the form) a step in the development of stained glass windows. In addition, they are made with three modern glass techniques: fusing, UV gluing and printing.
The reflections of the coloured glass are preserved, not only because of the contemporary application but also because the objects (tables) have been given a functional application.
